Madison – Governor Scott Walker released his Weekly Radio Address today titled “Wishing Wisconsin a Very Merry Christmas.”
Hi, Scott Walker here.
Christmas is a truly a magical time of the year, especially here in the great state of Wisconsin. The holiday season is filled with love, joy, and hope as we look towards the promise of a new year.
As Tonette, Matt, Alex, and I gather with our family and friends to celebrate the holiday, we’d like to wish you and your family happy holidays and a very Merry Christmas.
Whether it’s singing carols in your neighborhood, decorating cookies, giving back to your community at a local food pantry, or getting outside to ski or skate in the crisp Wisconsin weather, we hope you’re surrounded by those you love and able to create lifelong memories.
The Christmas season is the perfect opportunity to reflect on the previous year and count our many blessings. And it’s important for us to remember that many of those blessings would not be possible without the selfless sacrifice of the men and women who serve in the United States Armed Forces.
Many of these soldiers and airmen are far from home and unable to see their loved ones this holiday. We know that this is an incredibly difficult time of the year to be away from family. We thank them, from the bottom of our hearts, for their dedicated service and we pray for their safe return home soon.
One of my greatest honors is serving as governor of this great state, and it’s a privilege to celebrate yet another Christmas with you, the citizens of Wisconsin. From our family to yours, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
