Madison – Wisconsinites can help guarantee their safety during the chilly winter months by heading over to the ReadyWisconsin website.
“The site is designed to help everyone stay safe so they can enjoy a beautiful Wisconsin winter with no worries,” Governor Walker said. “Winter storms can be vicious and the best way to combat them is through advance preparation.”
ReadyWisconsin features plenty of winter safety tips, including information on how to make an emergency kit.
“The number one thing to do: make sure you have an emergency supply kit in your car—it could save your life,” said Todd Pritchard, Emergency Preparedness Coordinator at Wisconsin Emergency Management. ReadyWisconsin suggests having items like blankets, flashlights, and a shovel in your vehicle at all times.
NASCAR champion and Wisconsin native Matt Kenseth is partnering with ReadyWisconsin to promote winter awareness. He’s also urging Wisconsinites to sign up to win a free kit on the ReadyWisconsin website.
