Madison — Today Governor-elect Scott Walker’s Transition Director John Hiller released the following statement:
“Governor-elect Scott Walker remains focused on fixing Wisconsin’s existing infrastructure, namely our state’s crumbling roads and bridges. Taking care of basic transportation needs will help setup an economic environment that allows for the creation of 250,000 private sector jobs.
While public-sector dominated unions do not like the fact that Governor-elect Walker is going to stop the Milwaukee-Madison rail line, the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 139, Wisconsin Transportation Builders Association and Wisconsin State Council of Carpenters have taken a different approach. These private-sector unions have endorsed his plan to dedicate funding to fixing crumbling roads and bridges.”
