MADISON – Governor Scott Walker ordered flags to half-staff on Saturday, October 13, 2018, in honor of Wisconsin Firefighters Memorial Day, which concludes Fire Prevention Week in Wisconsin. Fire Prevention Week began on Sunday, October 7, 2018, and concludes on October 13, 2018.
“Wisconsin’s firefighters dedicate their lives to serve and protect our communities, putting their lives on the line to save others on a daily basis,” said Governor Walker. “This year we lost three brave firefighters in the line of duty, Cory Barr, Richard Garner Jr., and Philip Neubich Sr. We will always remember their heroism and sacrifice, along with every firefighter who has given their life in service to the people of Wisconsin.”
