MADISON – Governor Scott Walker today released the following statement celebrating Independence Day:
Today, we come together to celebrate the 242nd anniversary of our nation’s independence. More than that, we honor the courage displayed by America’s founding fathers and the patriots who fought for our freedom.
Something they knew all too well was that freedom isn’t free. Which is why it’s important to keep those who fight to preserve it in our hearts and minds today. We can never fully repay our brave men and women in uniform, but we can show our gratitude for their service and sacrifice as we enjoy this day with family.
