Madison – Governor Scott Walker appointed Chippewa County District Attorney Steven H. Gibbs to serve as a judge on the Chippewa County Circuit Court today, replacing retiring Judge Roderick A. Cameron.
“I am pleased to appoint Steven Gibbs as a judge in Chippewa County,” Governor Walker said. “Gibbs brings both experience and a commitment to fundamental Constitutional principles that make him a great addition to the Chippewa County bench.”
Gibbs, born and raised in Chippewa Falls, brings a breadth of legal experiences, including corporate litigation, criminal defense, personal injury, civil rights litigation, second amendment litigation, juvenile law, and general litigation. Gibbs also serves as a board member of REACH, Inc., a private, nonprofit corporation that has been providing services to people with disabilities in Eau Claire since 1963. Gibbs also volunteers for various athletic organizations in the Chippewa Falls area.
United Bank President and CEO, Trevor Bohland, highly recommends Gibbs for the Chippewa County bench. “Steve is uniquely qualified for this position based on his diverse background, demeanor, life experiences, compassion, and most of all, his integrity,” says Bohland. “He was highly regarded in the community as a lawyer for his preparation, extensive experience, knowledge, and common sense approach.” Bohland continues, “I admire the countless hours he dedicates in not just serving his community but investing in the future and the possibilities of what it can become.”
Gibbs received his Juris Doctorate degree from Hamline University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He resides in Chippewa Falls with his wife, Pamela, and their two children.
