Madison – Governor Scott Walker appointed Dave Olien and Darrell Bazzell today to serve on the Special Task Force on University of Wisconsin Restructuring and Operational Flexibilities.
- David Olien, the Senior Vice President Emeritus of the University of Wisconsin System, comes to the task force with over 30 years of administrative experience within the University of Wisconsin System and the University of Illinois System. Mr. Olien received both his MA and MS degrees from the University of Illinois.
- Darrell Bazzell has served as Vice Chancellor for Administration at the University of Wisconsin-Madison since January 2003. In this capacity, he serves as the university’s chief financial officer, and is responsible for the overall supervision of the university’s administrative functions. Mr. Bazzell brings with him a distinguished career in state service including service as the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources secretary from 2001-2003.
The Special Task Force on University of Wisconsin Restructuring and Operational Flexibilities is tasked with studying the University of Wisconsin System and its governance structure and recommending changes to university practices. The task force will submit a report to committees of the Legislature by January 1, 2012. It is composed of 16 members, two of which are appointed by the governor.
