On January 24th, Governor Walker reflected upon the successes of the past year and presented an ambitious agenda for Wisconsin in the 2018 State of the State Address. This agenda includes: creating a WI Career Creator program, expanding welfare reform, funding a new child tax credit rebate, implementing the Health Care Stability Plan, and increasing sparsity aid.
It is an exciting time for Wisconsin!
1. 2018 State of the State Address
Declaring the state of our state “historically strong,” Governor Scott Walker introduced an Ambitious Agenda for Wisconsin in his 2018 State of the State Address.
The Governor concluded the address by thanking the hardworking individuals of Wisconsin:
“Today, I want you to know that I am proud to be your Governor. I’m proud of the work we’ve done here. I’m proud of the progress we’ve made together. I am proud that we are getting positive things done for the people of Wisconsin. But we’re not done yet. So, let’s get going. Let’s keep working together. Let’s keep moving Wisconsin forward. Thank you. May God bless you. May God bless the great State of Wisconsin. May God bless our great service members around the world. And may God continue to bless the United States of America.”
2. Introducing Governor Walker’s Heath Care Stability Plan
Governor Scott Walker visited Stoughton Hospital this week and discussed his new Health Care Stability Plan, which stabilizes rising premium costs for Wisconsinites under Obamacare and protects seniors and people with preexisting conditions.
Governor Walker noted:
“Our Health Care Stability Plan will help bring needed peace of mind and stability to Wisconsin families by addressing out of control premiums for those on the individual marketplace, requesting a permanent waiver for SeniorCare, and protecting people will preexisting conditions.”
3. Celebrating School Choice

Governor Walker declared January 21-27 as School Choice Week throughout Wisconsin! School choice allows parents the freedom to choose what is best for their child and gives students access to a quality education.
4. Thanking Wisconsin’s Service Members
Governor Walker welcomed Wisconsin’s 1-147th Aviation Troop as they returned home on January 25.
