In early 2011, Governor Walker faced over $800 million in unpaid bills and a projected $3.6 billion deficit over the two years immediately following. Governor Walker paid the bills, balanced the budget without raising taxes, and put in place reforms that are growing jobs in Wisconsin. This website is an attempt to codify those historic actions and the positive effects they have had and are continuing to have in Wisconsin. The user can track savings, case studies, and how taxpayers are seeing their bills go down for the first time in over a decade.
“When I took office Wisconsin was facing very serious budget challenges. We made the tough decisions necessary to ensure our children and grandchildren were not buried under a mountain of economically crippling debt.”
