Weekly Radio Address: Small Business Summit
Madison—Today, Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch delivered the weekly radio address titled “Small Business Summit.”
Transcript below:
Hi I’m Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch.
This week marks the end of October as National Manufacturing Month. You probably already know we lead the nation in making cheese, and you definitely know the Packers will always be at the top. But did you know that Wisconsin still ranks first among the fifty states in manufacturing jobs per capita? That’s right! And we’re making strides to improve our business climate and improve our workforce to make Wisconsin even better for manufacturers, other small businesses, and our great citizens.
We’re doing this by listening to you. At last year’s small business summit in Green Bay, that’s exactly what we did. The Governor and I handed the microphone to our job creators and they told us how to put government back on track. Get out of the way of the private sector creating jobs, help to develop our workforce, transform our education system, invest in our infrastructure, and reform government to work more like a business.
One year later, we’ve made significant progress. But we’re ready for more. On November 8th, the Governor’s Second Annual Small Business Summit will be held in La Crosse. On behalf of the Governor, we look forward to turning the microphone back over to the job creators so we can build on these successes to move Wisconsin forward.
