Governor Walker Re-Appoints Judge Gerald Nichol to the Government Accountability Board
Madison–Today Governor Walker announced he is re-appointing Judge Gerald Nichol of Madison to the Government Accountability Board.
“Judge Nichol has extensive legal experience including time on both sides of the bench. He has been recognized for leadership in his field and I am confident he will continue to serve the state well as part of the Government Accountability Board.”, said Governor Scott Walker.
Judge Nichol has a distinguished career in public service. He served as a soldier in the U.S Army and worked as Dane County District Attorney, Madison Municipal Court Judge, Dane County Circuit Court Judge and served as a member of various committees and boards. He has served as a member of the Government Accountability Board since 2007, when the Board was created.
Judge Nichol has received several awards for his work, including the State of Wisconsin Judge of the Year Award of the Wisconsin State Bar and the Wisconsin State Bar Presidents Award.
The Wisconsin Government Accountability Board administers and enforces Wisconsin law pertaining to campaign finance, elections, ethics and lobbying. The Board is made up of six non-partisan, former state judges.
