Governor Walker Appoints Nathan Dreckman as Sheriff of Grant County
Madison—Today, Governor Walker announced the appointment of Patrol Sergeant Nathan Dreckman to the position of Sheriff of Grant County.
Dreckman graduated from the FBI National Academy. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and a graduate’s certificate from the University of Virginia. He worked for the Grant County Sheriff’s Department for the past 17 years.
“I am pleased to appoint Nathan Dreckman as the Grant County Sheriff,” said Governor Walker. “Given the amount of community support Nathan received, coupled with his impressive service and experience, I think he will be able to successfully lead and manage the Grant County Sheriff’s Department.”
"It is my desire to conscientiously continue and build on, the outstanding work of the many Sheriffs who have served before me," said Nathan Dreckman.
Retiring Grant County Sheriff Keith Govier, in a letter of recommendation stated, “Nate sets himself apart as the one deputy that I have the confidence in to win an election. He has the moral and ethical leadership qualities that everyone wants to see in their local sheriff.”
